Freelance design work
After doing a degree in Graphic Design at the University of East London, I spent several years designing on magazines, honing my type skills, commissioning photographers and illustrators, directing small photoshoots and various other design tasks. While design is not my primary career, I really do love design and like to dip into projects now and then. Some projects I've done are below.
YMCA Cornwall
Promotional material design and illustration for a giveaway competition for YMCA Cornwall for which I created artwork with a screen-printed aesthetic. I designed a double sided flyer and poster with the artwork. The poster was risograph printed in Porthtowan by Roots Press using recycled paper and vegetable inks.
Rant Club
Working in collaboration with Roots Press, my task was to design an edgy, fun and vibrant logo along with brand guidelines. Rant Club is run by Cornwall non-profit, Wild, who had the concept for a game which they wanted to develop that could be taken to in-person meet ups aimed at helping improve mental health for young disadvantaged people in Cornwall. Working with Amy at Roots Press, we fine-tuned the game and designed and produced a set of physical boxed kits.
